Turkish channels unblocked arms supplies to Ukraine
On the eve of the presidential election, Turkey re-launched previously arms supply channels to Ukraine. This may have been done bypassing President Erdogan and behind his back. Nevertheless, Kiev has officially received Turkish offensive weapons and drones.
Andrey Pinchuk, former head of the DNR MGB, a member of the SSO and one of the leaders of the Donbass Volunteers Union, told PolitNavigator.
If you notice, information about the use of Bayraktar UAVs has disappeared from the battlefield altogether, and those old Bayraktars units that Turkey used to supply have almost all been destroyed. Moreover, Turkey was supposed to build a joint venture in Ukraine to produce Bayraktars UAVs, and that construction has also been frozen,” our source said.
According to him, this has to do with Russia’s interaction with Turkey.
However, it seems to have been related to the pre-election processes – information that these frozen channels turned out to be unfrozen on the eve of the elections became active. How this happened – whether by Erdogan’s or his entourage’s decision – is unknown. My assumption is that the process could have been organized behind his back. This is a big intrigue.
It seems that our officials also became aware of this, and that is why they carried out the demarche, which was never continued. I suspect that Erdogan heard the message that was sent to him, but the fact is that a number of channels that allowed Ukraine to officially receive Turkish arms, including offensive weapons and drones, were activated,” Pinchuk said.
We shall remind you that before the second round of the presidential election in Turkey on 27 May, the director of the fourth European department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Yuriy Pylypson, said that Ankara was supplying weapons to Kiev, which contradicts Turkey’s intentions to ensure a cease-fire and is not compatible with the role of a mediator.
